To the biggest elections in the world now, in India, where opposition parties say the government is using arrests and detentions to stop them campaigning - calling it a "nail in the coffin of free and fair elections".

This week police issued a summons to a Congress Party chief minister over allegations his staff doctored a video of the interior minister.

Meanwhile, there are reports a prominent opposition figure - Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal - might be released on bail, weeks after he was imprisoned over - as yet unproven - corruption allegations. Ria Chatterjee has more from India's capital, New Delhi.
