A manhunt involving hundreds of police officers is underway after deadly shootings shook this city of about 38,000 people. At least 16 people were killed in Lewiston late Wednesday, a law enforcement official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity based on initial information gathered by first responders. Dozens more were injured, the person said. Law enforcement officials are searching for Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin, a “person of interest” who police said should be regarded as armed and dangerous. A police news conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Eastern time Thursday at Lewiston City Hall.
