Session 1: Ecological and Environmental Art: creativity for the planet

In this session, we will look at the work of artists who are interested in a variety of environmental issues including sustainability, land rights, ecological concerns, climate change, and environmental restoration."

Making and Meaning, is a public engagement opportunity in which patrons can learn about the history of art through topical virtual lectures. Each session will be 90 minutes in length, with approximately 60 minutes of lecture/slide presentation/video and 30 minutes of Q&A. The content of each session will be geared to excite participants about art history in a way that moves past traditional Western-centered surveys and invites viewers to consider the context of the works discussed. "
