Self-directed learning: Education through an exponential lens | Alfi Oloo | TEDxPretoria
Alfi Oloo explores what the future of education might look like in a world where knowledge is freely available. Drawing on his own personal experience of dropping out and learning to learn he explores how a system of learning decided on by the learner and supported by mentors might be the core of what education in the future could look like. Alfi Oloo is a self-taught product designer specialising in design systems. He is a thought leader in the domain of mentorship and is piloting a new mentorship framework that leverages common practices in the domain of psychology & performance coaching. He has a keen interest in the process of transitioning from learning institutions to professional environments. He is also a mentor at a UX bootcamp, a coordinator for a student work-readiness program and a co-host of a podcast. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
