The villagers were threatened by this elephant in several ways. It destroyed the cultivations and the crops including few houses of the villagers. The school students were unable to go to there schools and the villagers were unable to travel in the night time due to the threat of this elephant. So, the villagers urged the wildlife authorities to trans locate the elephant. Although there were some more elephants of the herd in the jungle only this particular elephant used to harm the villagers. Therefor having identified the elephant, it was safely transferred to a sanctuary.
Elephants cause over $10 million in crop and property damage annually. On average, 225 elephants have been killed by farmers annually since 2008, and elephants have killed around 60-80 people annually. Human beings have a responsibility to protect endangered wildlife. However, when the wildlife population recovers, the habitats that are situated close to or even overlap with the human living space may not be able to fully support their survival, which leads to new problems.
The main cause for the conflict between man and the elephant is to acquire the lands illegally by the villagers. As a result of that natural living style of elephants is baldly influenced. Accordingly, it is clear that human elephant conflict is mainly created due to the bad acts of humans. Hence the ultimate result of this is to lose elephants their home land.
