Using Your Creativity to Promote Social Justice and Social Media Activism

If you’re a creator and you’ve been wondering how to use your creativity to promote social change and social justice, this video is for you.

I’ve been figuring out ways to reconcile these two things myself. As a writer among other things, I find pen and paper (in some cases keyboard and screen) to be the most effective ways I can share about social justice and bring awareness to my sphere of influence on social media, besides having conversations with my family and friends.

Creatively, for some time now, art has always been a way to create change socially. From the Allen Ginsbergs of the world to Angela Davis, Aaron Douglas (painter), Martin Luther King Jr. to Maya Angelou. Artists do not have to be excluded from getting involved in creating change for the world we live in. Art speaks volumes, creativity sparks change. Don’t be afraid to add your voice to bring awareness and amplify the voices of others.
