This is Nitika Thakur starting HP gk series in which we will cover hp geography, art and culture of Himachal Pradesh, administration of hp, ancient medivial and modern history of himachal Pradesh and district profile of Himachal Pradesh.

Wildlife Sanctuary is an area where animal habitats and their surrounding are protected from any sort of disturbance. The capturing , killing and porching of animals is strictly prohibited in these regions .

National Parks and wildlife Sanctuaries are declared by government of India according to the regulation from IUCN to preserve wildlife .

Since 1972 all parks and Sanctuaries in the state are being set up by wildlife protection act 1972 .
Prior to this areas were declared Sanctuaries under the Punjab wild bird and wild animals act 1933, or HP wild birds and wild animals protection rules.
